There was an old man
He tended to be angry, reminiscent of his old man
And lived in a Horder’s Paradize
There was always drinking, recently alone
Sometimes a challenge, like espionage, keeping the boat afloat
Sometimes ugly, going too far, acting on impulse, trouble with how he responded
Threatening to infringe on work
And then COVID-19 surfaced abruptly, like a submarine in peril
and it was easy not to shower
and easy not to shave
and easy to venture out in old dirty clothes and running togs
and recline – recline with a variety of junk food, pizza, cheese, sausage and chips
And there you have it
Which is a reason to encourage human contact
Maintain friendships
Continue to work
To savor social contact
Fight the Drunken, Smelly, Dirty, Angry, Fat Old Man
